Movie Reviews

Weird

(5 out of 5 stars)

"The last volume of Serial Experiment Lain is one long trip. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. Volume 4: Reset contains the last four episodes or "layers" of the strange, postmodernist, Net-conspiracy-theory themed anime.

The first episode is just a digital stream as we see it from Lain's mind. No dialouge, yet some plot development. For such a weird anime, the resolution of the series has some oddly touching moments. It is well-done, and a happier ending than you would expect.

There are no extras - just a conceptual art gallery. The art is reduced to just the center of your screen, and hard to see."
