Great Concert - Dead Audience

"I was a big fan of the Jones Girls and a HUGE Cherrelle fan in the 80's. When I saw this concert had "Look Good to Me" by Cherrelle, I would have bought it just for that. (that was my favorite dance club song in 80's) However, I was pleasantly surprised by Jean Carn's performances. And Shirley Jones does fantastic renditions of "Who Can I Run Yo" & "You Gonn'a Make Me Love Sombody Else".
The picture and sound quality is average. It looks like it was filmed with only 2 cameras and there are few close ups and angles. Sound is lacking in midrange. But it booms on bass. (5.1 surrounds with sub-woofers will almost be too bassey)
But, to me, the heatbreaking thing of this concert is the crowd. A lively crowd can add a lot of excitement for the concert viewer. This audience is simply dead. It looks like some promoter booked this thing and then didn't advertise it. It's simply heart breaking to watch these ladies put on a pretty good show, and then get golf claps at the end of each song. The finale' (Saturday Love by Cherrelle) is almost too painful to watch. Cherrelle holds her microphone out towards the crowd to sing along with the 'Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday....' ----- and it is dead silence!!
I commend these ladies for a good show -- solid song choices, and trying to 'pump up' an obviously dead crowd....which looked to me to number about 25. If you're a big fan of any of these ladies, you will enjoy this concert. But call a bunch of friends over, have some drinks, and do your own cheering....'cus that's all you'll have!
Other than the comatose crowd and tad bit bassey sound -- a good show!"
