"Kylie shed the cool (almost distant) image she took on during her Body Language period just in time for her long awaited Greatest Hits tour; aptly named "Showgirl." Almost every major hit from the past 20 years show up in either full song or medley form. The tracklist is as follows:
'Better The Devil You Know'
'In Your Eyes'
'Giving You Up'
'On A Night Like This'
'Shocked/What Do I Have To Do/Spinning Around'
'In Denial'
'Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi'
'Confide In Me'
'Red Blooded Woman / Where The Wild Roses Grow'
'Slow'
'Please Stay'
'Over The Rainbow'
'Come Into My World'
'Chocolate'
'I Believe In You'
'Dreams'
'Hand On Your Heart'
'The Locomotion'
'I Should Be So Lucky'
'Your Disco Needs You'
'Put Yourself In My Place'
'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'
'Especially For You'
'Love at First Sight'
And get this, she sings the whole thing LIVE. No prerecorded vocals here! A certain Queen of pop could learn a thing or two from Kylie when it comes to singing live.
The highlight of the evening has to be the updated Follies version of Hand On Your Heart. It's just perfection! The way Kylie and her dancers move is so prissy and girly, it's great! Another highlight has to be Put Yourself In My Place. The backing track for the original song has been mixed with the Star Wars and Close Encounters Of The Third Kind theme songs, adding to the illusion that Kylie is some alien queen seducing mankind with her music.
So, if you want an extravaganza of song, dance (yes, she dances now. And rather well, too!), and amazing theatrics, this is the DVD for you.
Well done Kylie! A+
P.S. Kylie is currently undergoing chemotherepy after finding out she has breast cancer last year. This ulimately led to the postponement of the tour."

"Kylie's new DVD is as great like it was with "Fever", "Light Years", "Body Language". Kylie has beautiful dresses and the best is her stocking. She has only stockings and shirt. The private areas has been covered, however. There is also other great clothes. They must have cost fortunes. It is great to hear "Especially for You" - my favourite duet song ever!!! The audience sings very well Jason's parts. I think it is great to make this kind of DVD (again). More Kylie, more music, more live...!!! Kylie is great and very good-looking.

I Believe In Traveling 5000 Miles For A Kylie Concert

"From the moment Kylie begins her concert with what is widely considered to be Kylie's biggest song ever (well everywhere but America) Better The Devil You Know to the last encore song of Love At First Sight Kylie shows us why she is the ultimate Showgirl.
Her concerts are what concerts should be all about. Fun, fun, fun!
I had seen Kylie before for here Fever tour, which was incredible and on my top five concerts of all time.
Kylie Showgirl was worth the 12 hour flight to London from Houston, 2 hours of sleep, 4 hour train ride to Manchester, where as soon as she came out I was no longer tired!
My favorite part of the concert is the Smiley Kylie part. Great 17 minute medley that begins with Shocked and ends with Spinning Around.
And the projections! So fun! Smiley Kylie's are the best, they are made to look like covers of UK magazine ID. And the lyrics are projected to appear to be part of the magazine cover. The ID logo is replaced by KM2, just incredible.
And then there is the male dancer "shower" scene, where they start off in the shower and then put on jeans only and dance to Red Blooded Woman.
Other stand outs: I Believe In You, Hand On Your Heart, Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi, Come Into My World, On A Night Like This.
Highly recommended, Kylie has made the transition from pop princess to Pop Queen on this concert.
Also noted, Kylie had to cancel her tour shortly after this concert was filmed, so clearly she was not feeling well when the concert was filmed, but you cannot tell at all, it seems like Kylie' opening night even though the show that was filme was the last of her 7 London concerts.
Get well soon Kylie!

"I've seen 4 Kylie Shows. This one makes the other 3 seem like nap time. This show is the best tour I have ever seen. It's flashy, but in an effortless way. Almost like this tour was more about ideas based on what Kylie wants more than what the audience would want. She starts out with a Moulin Rouge theme that is super flashy and glamorous. Next was the Disco Dive section. After that she has a Homo erotic men-together-in-the-locker-room theme that is perfect for preserving her gay appeal, (not to mention that the dancers are almost naked). She also has some Chicago influence and then comes the Space Age Kylie. Her singing is stronger than any of the actual tracks she has recorded. Then there is the set itself, it's amazing. There are many beautiful colors and pieces that go every which way. It is very nice. I would pick up this DVD as soon as you can."
Absolutely Amazing!!

"I first ordered this DVD from amazon.com and was disappointed when it didn't ship right away. Then someone on Kylie's official forum said that Canada's cdplus website had NTSC versions in stock, I canceled my order and went through that site instead. I actually saved a lot of money ordering directly from Canada instead of buying from the US and having to pay an import cost.
The show is absolutely amazing from the opening song of "Better the Devil you know" to the last song of "Love at first sight" (Fever version).Kylie has redone a lot of her songs to give them a fresh sound. There are so many highlights for me. The beginning of "On a night like this" is so beautiful-it's sounds like a ballad and then goes into the normal dance version in the second verse. This is the first time I've ever heard Kylie sing "In Denial" and the dancer that dances through that one through "Confide in me" is amazing, I believe his name is Jason Beital(sp?). "Confide in me" is also given a makeover and it is so great. It's probably been the song that I've watched the most. Kylie and Jason perform a little dance in the middle of "Confide in me" that is one of my favorite parts of the whole show. "Over the rainbow" is of course one of the highlights and the image of Kylie on the moon is gorgeous. "Come into my world" is also perform while she's on the moon and it became a beautifil ballad. "Dreams" is finally performed in full for the first time and it's really worth wait. That is one of Kylie's most powerful songs ever and when I listened to it the day that Kylie announced she had breast cancer, I got teary-eyed. "Hand on your heart" also got a make-over and the mix of it is really great sounding and it'll get stuck in your head-not that that's a bad thing. "Loco-motion" continues to be jazzy-sounding but it's different than any other version that she's done. I prefer the "Fever" live version better but this one is great as well. "I should be so lucky" sounds almost exactly as the 1987 version and the dancers perform it in sign language. "Especially for you" is another highlight with the audience joining in.
All of the songs are great and there isn't one dull moment in the show. The "Behind the Feathers" documentry is a great highlight and it's fantastic to see some of what goes on behind the scenes. There is a small clip on there of Kylie talking about her tour family that was filmed, I believe, on May 2. This is where a member of the band, Chris Brown, proposed to his girlfriend. I kind of wished that they had shown the whole clip because it sounds like it was a really sweet moment. This DVD is a must for any Kylie fan and hopefully everyone will be able to get their copies soon. There's talk of Kylie finishing the tour in 2006 and she might slight alterations to the show so there's something to look forward to.
