"This movie is the Bollywood Remake of ET. It stars the stars Hrithik Roshan who plays the challenging role of a mentally retarded boy who falls in love with Priety Zinta. Roshan was disabled in an accident that was caused by aliens. His father once made contact with ETs using his old computer before he was involved in the accident and died. Hrithik brings out the old computer and makes contact again, but when the aliens come, they leave one behind. Hrithik finds it but what happens after that. This is an almost flawless movie with excellent songs. A must-see for all."
HRITHIK ROSHAN IS SUPERB

"Hrithik Roshan certainly studied for his part. He was EXCELLENT. The story was good, and despite what the reviews were by some critics in India, the ending was good. How else could it have have been done, what did they expect? The storyline was different from the "now boring movies of 2 boys liking one girl,or two girls liking one boy" Enough of that already. Rajesh Roshan tried something different and it worked. Kudos to him and and his handsome, talented and very sexy son. Its a family movie that all should see. I, myself saw it 4 times. :-)"
The BEST Hindi Sci-Fi Movie EVER!!!!
Quazi | Durham, NC United States | 09/21/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)
"This is the BEST Hindi sci-fi movie ever made!! Every technical aspect of this movie is very well done, especially the visual effects (which are good enought to rival that of Hollywood's). The performance put on by Hrithik Roshan is just amazing, including his dances. There were also marvelous performances put on by Preity Zinta, Rekha, the kids, and others. They might have gone just slightly overboard with the alien, named Jadoo, but still every well done. This movie is not that much of a sci-fi movie, but is equally balanced between children's, romance, and sci-fi. The songs and music in this movie are great, the music being done by Rajesh Roshan, the brother of the director of this film Rakesh Roshan. Just All in all, this is a great for everyone!"
Now THIS is Entertainment !!!!!

"Pure unadulterated fun .. Total gripping entertainment, never a dull moment. The acting is A-class, Hritiks best to date. The story is solid, the music is excellent. The special effects (apart from the patchy opening credits sequence and the flying birds in the first song) are the best ever seem in a Bollywood production. No resort to any cheap tomfoolery gimmicks or vulgarity, the whole family can enjoy it. Full kudos to Rakesh roshan and his team. He has really conjured up something totally off-beat here but with the Bollywood soul definitely intact in it. Bravo !!!Definitely worth repeated viewings and one for the all-time Bollywood collection list."
A better-than-averge Hindi / Indian movie!

"As an American with part-Indian heritage, I watch as many "Bollywood" (made in Bombay, India) movies that I can... I love the musicals, the 'Disney-like' idealism, sometimes handsome guys and -- if Kajol is in it, she is SUCH a beauty! There are usually solid family morals, and often beautiful scenery. The best few have, in addition to the beautiful faces and outfits, also a complex plot and stellar acting. The worst find me so distracted by the cheesy songs and HORRIBLE acting, when the filmmakers obviously picked an actor based on looks alone...
Anyway, this movie was definitely in my top 10 indian movies! Cute songs, an interesting plot (OK, you have to expect a few things borrowed from ET/ Close Encounters!) but it's a fun 2.5 hour ride. I DON'T think you need to be Indian to enjoy this movie (I'm not!) and the nice thing is, it is totally rated G -- the only drawback for small children is keeping up with the subtitles. But what can you do if it's a foreign film, eh? And, I noticed a few times when the subtitles weren't 100% accurate -- sorry, I'm a stickler for anything that will distract me from full enjoyment, which is why I gave this 4 out of 5. Go SEE IT!!! :)"
