A young Ed Harris leads a traveling "circus" troupe who perform jousts on motorcycles. While the concept of Camelot has been done in many movies, Knightriders takes the viewer into some unexplored territory. Harris is a great actor, but too often he is cast in blockbusters with other bigger name leads, and sadly his roles are one-dimensional while he supports said lead. In this film, Harris shows a great range of emotions, and he successfully takes a difficult script and makes it absolutely credible. Romero takes his time with developing characters, and I found the direction of the plot to be unpredictable. Doom is foreshadowed from the outset, but just what form it will take is a mystery up to the end.
