Watts: "You never asked." [they both look at each other and laugh. He hands her the earrings.] Watts: "I wanted these. I really wanted them." She says, putting the earrings into her ears. Keith: "They're yours." Keith: "You knew you were going to get them", as they walk away together. Watts: "No, I didn't. But I hoped." Takes you right back to being 18 and hopeful. Probably the most understated of all the John Hughes teen films of the 80s.
