This is John Carpenter at his best. The movie moves smoothly and the ending will surprise you, absolutely something I wasn't contemplating. I highly suggest this film to all horror fans.

This is the first actual film that John Carpenter has directed since Ghosts of mars (sorry people, but his two episodes of Masters of Horror r not actual films regardless of what some may say). The Ward is an interesting film, but somehow it just seems kind of dated. Carpenter's done far better work. Worth checking out.

The only thing good about this movie is the end, which is great. But to get to it the viewer must sit through a movie with horrible acting by the main character. I have never seen anything else with Amber Heard and after seeing this movie I never will. The other actors are really pretty good so it is a shame about the lead being so bad. They should remake the movie with a better lead. The plot is okay and I didn't figure out the twist ahead of time. I would give this movie 2 stars only because of the end and the non lead actors good acting, but the lead actress is so bad I can't rate it any higher.
