"I'm a great classical music buff and saw this production of a true Austrian Operetta in Vienna many years ago, this is the real stuff as you would see it in Vienna and the Actors are superb, I been waiting for this to be released on DVD for many years, Renate Holm as Maid, is absolutely the best . It is in the original Viennese dialect, subtitles in English."

"This is an excellent version of the operetta by Strauss with superb singers who look right for their parts, speak Viennese and can act as well.A wonderfully uplifting entertainment that is perfectly suited for New Years Eve viewing. This Fledermaus is a classic and will never become dated because all the elements fit perfectly. A rare delight and a must have for your collection!!!

"SOME TIME ON THE 1980'S (DON'T REMEMBER EXACTLY), A CO-WORKER GAVE ME A VCR COPY OF DIE FLEDERMAUS THAT I HAD SEEN WHILE VISITING FRIENDS FOR CHRISTMAS; IT WAS NARRATED BY ANA MOFFO, AND I THOUGHT OF IT AS A VERY GOOD ONE. AS THE YEARS WENT BY, I STARTED RESEARCHING FOR A

REMAKE OF IT ON DVD, WITHOUT ANY RESULTS, I EVEN TRIED ENGLAND, BUT THEY ONLY HAD A CD AND IT COST LBS.45, SO I KIND OF GAVE IT UP, UNTIL MY HUSBAND SURPRISED ME ORDERING FROM AMAZON.

I PARTICULARLY LOVE THIS PERFORMANCE, GUNDULA JANOVITZ IS GREAT, AND THE ENTIRE CAST IS

FANTASTIC; I LIKE THE FACT THAT PRINCE ORLOOFSKY IS A BIG CLUMSY GUY. THIS IS GOING TO BE MY BEST CHRISTMAS VIEWING THIS TREASURE. BUY IT YOU'LL LOVE IT

AND DON'T COMPLAIN BEING OLD; THE BEST THINGS ARE NOT THE ONES ALTERED, LIKE THE RECENT TOSCA AT THE MET.
