A very different, but believable, sad love story.

Nice love story about two wildly different people, and the Australian scenery was spectacular. Toni Collette really brought her character to life, and the emotional pain she was experiencing towrds the end of the movie really came across. Maybe not a keeper for everybody, but a solid "recommend".

Beautiful Australian scenery...kind of a pointless movie. These two people share an experience in the desert and then without having hardly a conversation start sleeping together and (SPOILER ALERT) one of them dies. It is just kind of odd. I liked the interaction between the two once they actually spoke to each other - Collette is a great actress - but there was not a lot to this movie. The scenes after he dies were good and well-acted, but it was their whole "romance" was just sort of anti-climactic.

A Japanese business man comes to Australia to see the countryside. Reluctantly, Sandy takes him on a trip through the wilderness where their veichle gets stuck in sand. They spend the night there and in the morning they are able to get free, but they realize they are attracted to one another.
It is not the survival story it is purported to be. This is a romance and nothing more. The ending was sad, but otherwise the plot was fairly boring. I guess it just wasn't my type of film.
