"Finally! I have been waiting for "Jackie's Back" to be released on DVD for 3 years! I have also been waiting for LifeTime to replay it for 3 years! This movie is a hidden treasure that many did not catch the first time, but is filled with good times and lots of laughs. The writing is smart and funny. The casting is right on. Jennifer Lewis rocks! Check it out and you won't be disappointed!!! Just remember - "In the end...the spiritual journey is all that matters... thank you! SAY NO MORE!!!""

"This is not a movie that's so bad it's good. This is a very funny movie, especially knowing it was made for Lifetime. Jenifer Lewis is hysterical as Jackie - she's over-the-top, especially as Aphrodite in a Nightie and in all her drunk scenes. Most of the other performances in the movie are spot-on, and there are some hysterically inspired moments with, believe it or not, Whoopi Goldberg and Isabel Sanford. The treacly ending (when it does turn into a Lifetime movie) notwithstanding, this is a funny mock-documentary about an over-the-hill black diva who never really was anyone to begin with. Tell your friends and your play mama to check this out."
Dynamite and Funny as you know what, but that ending....

"Loved this movie. There are SO many genuinely funny and campy moments here. Patti Austin at Peaches Yancy's funeral is a hoot; the woman just won't STOP singing! Jennifer Lewis is fabulous and so is young lady that plays Jackie's faithful daughter Entendre (Make that a DOUBLE Entendre). The only complaint I have is the ending. All of the sudden we get this bittersweet, force fed weeper ending which doesn't fit into the framework of the rest of the movie. Overall, though it doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the movie. Just a minor quibble, since the ending of ANY movie does leave an impression. It almost has the feel of something that was forced on Robert Townsend by the Network. Maybe not. Please buy this DVD, though. If you appreciate the ridiculous excess of modern and classic Divas you'll love it!!"

"Jenifer Lewis is a force of nature! I never tire of watching this movie. It is laugh out loud funny. Having seen her one woman shows "The Diva Is Dismissed" and "Now What?", I can say that "Jackie's Back" only hints at what she's capable of. Bette Midler has said that Jenifer is the funniest woman in the world and that is not an overstatement. "Jackie's Back" is a great showcase for Lewis. The best lines were probably ad-libbed. The musical numbers are ace (I would love to hear the full version of "Love Goddess"). There are several funny cameos -- particularly Whoopi Goldberg -- and the other featured players are good, however, the movie suceeds on the strength of Lewis' considerable charm and talent. Don't miss this!"
Hilarious!!!

"This was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. A friend of mine who hadn't seen the movie before viewed it recently and felt like a little kid in a candy store. It's that good! Jenifer Lewis was a hoot playing the character of this ficticious diva. She was perfect for the role and is truly underrated. I couldn't believe this was a Lifetime movie!!! The movies on there are usually so sappy but this was totally different thanks to the direction of Robert Townsend. He truly broke the mold ten-fold with this movie. There are so many funny moments in this movie that I can't list but watch closely to the facial expressions of the characters especially Jenifer Lewis' and Tim Curry's characters. They are simply timeless. This is the type of movie you can watch over and over and never get bored. I wish this movie was released in the theaters it would have had moviegoers falling out of their seats. It's that funny. It also has a large list of celebrity cameos from Whoopi Goldberg to Dolly Parton. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who hasn't seen it. It is simply hilarious and you will not be disappointed."
