This fell short in my opinion in comparison to how great the first Independence Day movie was. A must if you are a fan of the first movie though!

This is such a boring lame attempt at a sequel. The movie has uninteresting characters and a dumb plot. I would recommend just watching the original one.

As a rule, I am not partial to sequels, and this was no exception. After waiting so long for an addition to the "Independence Day" universe, it was quite a let-down. And while it was good to see that most of the cast returned, it just wasn't the same without Will Smith, even despite their trying to cover his absence. The worst part though, was the return of Brent Spiner's character. Although I loved his wacky scientist role in the first movie, HE DIED! After him come back alive, even though he's in a years-long coma for most of the movie, was just ridiculously dumb.
