Movie Reviews
Dumber and Dumbest, but funny.

"I fully agree with the Amazon reviewer's opinion that the movie is just an excuse to string together silly gags and gross-out gore. I'm not sure that makes it a horrible film. Hey, Dead Alive and Evil Dead, classics of the genre, are built from the same formula. They do it smarter and funnier, but Idle Hands is not without its charms. You've got the Seth Green factor (I'd watch Spiceworld II: The wrath of Ginger if he was in it), the Dexter from Offspring getting slaughtered factor, the giant-fan-as-teen-blender factor, the Vivica Fox as martial arts demon hunting babe factor, the scantily clad Jessica Alba factor. In other words, you've got your funny, you've got your bloody, and you've got your sexy, all in one cheesy package. If the ending wasn't so horrifically bad, I'd give this one five stars (Some DVDs have the original ending, which I haven't seen). It ain't Citizen Kane, but you know that already. If you're a fan of the genre -- B comedy-horror flicks -- this is a worthwhile entry."

"I didn't want to see this movie at all. Everyone else rented it and I watched it since I had nothing else to do. It ended up being one of the funniest movies I've seen recently. There were even a few parts that we were laughing so hard we had to rewind to see what we missed. Highly recommended to anyone, not just teenagers. Can't wait till I get my own copy!!!!"
Totally out of character for me

"For a straightedge, hardworking high school student, this is an odd movie to be considered my favorite. But I absolutely love it. I bring it to people's houses and parties all the time b/c it's a great movie that a whole bunch of people can watch and automatically like. Bringing a scary movie to a party is always bad b/c you get the people that are scared to death when someone so much as says, "Boo," and you get the people that always fold their arms, roll their eyes, and say, "That was supposed to be scary? This movie's so dumb." Comedies aren't always a hit at parties either, b/c you get people who don't understand the jokes and people who think it cramps their style to laugh at something that really is funny. Idle Hands is gory, violent, and hilarious. It's creepy w/o trying to scare the daylights out of you and falling short. It's so incredibly "out there" and weird that you can't help but laugh. Basically it's one of those movies that you can't take seriously, or you won't enjoy it. If you're one of those people that analyzes the acting and plot and all that, don't watch this. This is a movie that you watch just for laughs."

"Ok, I was not expecting this one. I was ready for the standard horror flick when all of a sudden, I found myself laughing so hard I was CRYING! This movie was so funny, but the key to seeing the humour is that you remember that it's fictional. This really would not be happening. It is so out there that you only need to sit back and ask, "Yeah, but what if...?" I guess that's the beauty of Hollywood. So what if they were smoking pot. It increases the hilarity of the film ten-fold. Stupid can be funny, but most of the characters in this movie were not stupid. They were smart kids, just bored. I feel that this movie is an exaggerated view of American society today. It just makes is all seem pretty hilarious. There were times when I wondered how the actors could keep a straight face with some of the stuff they said, like, "...that is just too much Tanya to go through...". I don't think I will ever forget that one. I thought I was going to stop breathing I was laughing so hard. Lighten up and enjoy..."
