Four low budget horror movies on one double sided DVD. The movies included are:
"Mortuary" (2006): Tobe ("Texas Chainsaw Massacre") Hooper directed this gore fest with Denise Crosby as a single Mom and newly trained mortician who moves her family to a new town so she can take over the decrepit local funeral parlor. Obviously, weird stuff starts to happen. Not Tobe's best work but thankfully it's far from his worst.
"Wages of Sin" (2006) - part "Frailty," part "Exorcist," part "Amitvville Horror," adds up to all stupid in this poorly acted fright flick in which a young girl inherits the old family homestead... and soon she and her friends find out about the house's horrific past.
"Memory" (2006) - this is more of a suspense thriller and therefore doesn't really belong on a "Horror" DVD but it turned out to be the best flick on the disc so I'll take it. Billy Zane stars as a researcher whose exposure to a strange drug compound gives him the ability to see other peoples' memories. Unfortunately, the person whose memories he's seeing is a serial kidnapper and killer who's been snatching local children for years. I hate when that happens. Of course, Zane begins to dig into the mystery in hopes of catching the psycho and ending the reign of terror, with able support from Ann-Margret (!) and the late great Dennis Hopper.
"Bloody Mary" (2006) - Mix "The Ring," "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Candyman" and you'll get this low budget schlocker about a legendary spirit who is accidentally summoned to a mental hospital by some nursing students playing "the mirror game." The movie doesn't make much sense, but the female cast members are attractive and some of them take their clothes off, so I was entertained... even if it was for the wrong reasons.
As I am so fond of saying... "Worth a look if you're into cheesy B Movies."
