"I first saw this documentary in Austin at the Ritz on 6th, a beautiful way to experience this film. When it finally came out on DVD, I was one of the first in line.
This goes through the life and times of "Sailor" Jerry Collins, one of the original legends in the tattoo industry famous for his approach to tattooing, his flash, his undeniable sense of humor, and unification of an American traditional approach to tattooing with the supportive elements and subject matter of Japanese tattooing. This story is largely told through interviews with Mike Malone, Eddie Funk, Don "Ed" Hardy, and Lyle Tuttle.
This is well-made and worth the watch for any tattooist, tattoo enthusiast, apprentice, or anyone who wants a slice of tattoo history as told by the some of the folks who helped make that history."
Very Entertaining

"If you are interested in tattoo history at all, this film is a fantastic testament to Jerry's generation of tattoo men (and women.) They just don't make 'em like these guys anymore. I just wish the film was longer!"

"If you like Tattoo History as much as I do, you need to own this video. A bunch of old school cats talking about Mr. Collins, telling crazy stories about good ol' times on Hotel Street in Hawaii. Great Video. The video even has extra material."
