Great acting on the part of all three make for interesting therapy sessions when a long-time married couple try to reconnect. Frank discussion helps when those issues between women and men seem stuck in ancient times... in other words the war that never ends! Loved it!

I loved this movie, I really enjoyed something different than all of the younger generation stuff that movies are usually about these days; although I'm only 32 myself. I found it sweet that they wanted to fall in-love again especially since it was just them 2 in the house anymore. This movie I felt realistically shows what can happen to a married couple once everyone is out of the house and when both spouses forget what it used to be like. I thought it was a really sweet and funny movie, but it did have its serious moments as well. I love that I get to watch it again and again now. I loved that it wasn't all about sex in this movie as well because that's what a lot of movies are based on now. This is one of my favorite movies now!!

4 out of 5 stars ONLY if you see it through the rolling credits at the end. Not for children; not for date night; not for the faint hearted. Couple married 31 years, shares their empty nest. He works; she keeps house; they don't communicate and sleep in separate bedrooms. She misses being connected; not connecting is easier for him. She made week-long counseling appointment for them in small New England coastal town to consult with a noted couples therapist, a bestselling author. Looks like she's going solo until he gets on the plane at the last moment. None of their assignments is successful. She suggests it might be easier to be alone by being alone. Aha! Got his attention ever so slightly. The therapist asks a few neutral questions that crack the shell. Meryl Streep plays a sweet lady, good natured, hurting. Tommy Lee Jones is the taciturn guy who doesn't want to talk about any of it. This is LIFE lifing away, not actors on set hitting their marks and saying their lines. How did they reach such an unpredictable ending? Hard to say, but do stay and watch. I was cheered to imagine transformation of this situation is possible. I know it is. Have done it a time or two my ownself.
