Had it's moments with an all-star cast of characters but needed some 120X FF. The ending was pretty suspenseful!

Thoroughly engrossing and enjoyable. The characters, both Detectives, work the familiar Hollywood, Sunset Blvd and surrounding area scene with just the right amount of scepticism and high hopes for success in solving the ruthless murder/s that start the film. Harrison Ford, an unlikely leading man I always thought, does not pander to the audience and manages to look disbelieving and hopefully undaunted at the same time. He does well in delightful scenes with his sexy girlfriend (who is truly sexy, and is probably not an American actress, , most of whom rarely translate as sexy on film) And that reminds me how good the direction is on this film, which is that it is Not Noticeable. A number of pleasing human touches in character portrayal and good editing are pluses in the film. Josh Harnett, the handsome young partner, has more direction but still manages to be totally engaging as a tentative young man who yearns for the glamour of being an acting "star" in Hollywood. Very real are the twists and turns he tries to "break in" to the Industry. With luck, he will remain a working detective in his mature years, one thinks. And who wouldn't like the auto chase, bang and crash scenes, they are so good. The writer even throws in the jealous fellow detective villain who tries to ruin Ford's career, harassing him at every turn of this fast action film.
