Have read a few knockdown reviews for this film, but as imported(dvd) enjoyed it all the same. Story is about a single-mum(pulled-out of olympics) and ever since is struggling to pay mortgage with job and raising young-son with much moral-support by grandmother(Margot Kidder)that rediscovers the fire(spirit) within to challenge attitudes of small-town for a female Hockey-team for the spirit of the game . Plays in widescreen and good sound and colour for disc- no extras though.
Characters do lack some developement but on te whole for a less than 90min Canadian movie felt cast the lead actress(Jessalyn Gilsig as Paula) and support, Jason Preistley as love-interest were splendid and appropriate and well directed about "Having Fun first and foremost, arising to the challenges and ploughing on-through" due to small-town narrow-mindedness. To reach for your goals and dreams , on the whole an uplifting and positive message over adversity.
A Feel-good movie, worthy of watching, nice soundtrack too with good cinemaphotography for an "Independent" film, desrves apreciation."

"This movie is a great one to show "don't give up". You can accomplish great things if you stick to it."
