So what's so bad about being a common caterpillar? Just ask Hermie?or his friend, Wormie?and they'll tell you. No splashy stripes. No stand-out spots. Not even a cool house like the snail or super-strength like the ant. ... more »Compared to the rest of God?s beautiful creation, they just feel ordinary. Unimportant. A little out of place. But God sees past their plainness, and plans an incredible surprise to show them just how special they are. Featuring the voices of Tim Conway as Hermie and Don Knotts as Wormie, these caterpillars encounter a host of delightful characters and quickly wriggle their way into the hearts of young and old alike. Hermie Has It All!

"Action, humor, drama - the Hermie the Common Caterpillar story has these and more, all wrapped up like a coccoon. Parents should recognize the voices of legendary comedians Tim Conway and Don Knotts. Kids will enjoy the entire movie regardless. I recommend you read the book first. Your family will appreciate the movie even more because it not only elaborates on the story line, but includes two songs: "Just Like You" and "God Is Not Finished With You Yet." When my girls, ages 4 and 2, saw one of their favorite books brought to life, they jumped for joy. The 3D animation is lifelike and touchable (think Monsters, Inc.). Hermie's dream sequences are hilarious! Hermie convinces his best friend Wormie to follow his harebrained schemes to become strong like the ant or spotted like the ladybug. "What could go wrong?" Hermie asks Wormie, just before he's bombarded with blueberries. The video begins and ends with a short cameo of the author Max Lucado himself. Lucado's biblical message hits home without being heavy handed. Actual runtime is about 35 minutes."

"'Hermie' is such a cute adventure video for kids of all ages (parents will love it, too.). It comes from Max Lucado's story available on board book, but animation is lots more fun. It's nice to see this cute animated character Hermie a caterpillar come to life to tell his unhappy story to his pal, Wormie who has something in common. That's just it being common. The voices of Hermie are played by Tim Conway, and Wormie played by Don Knotts makes this so delightful. Hermie and his pal Wormie looks at all the fabulous insects around both of them and wonders Hermie and Wormie are just so plain. Hermie learns that being what God made you does mean He through with you yet. God lets Hermie snd Wormie know He's not finished with them. Then one day Hermie and Wormie gets a special surprise. Both of them become a beautiful butterfly. Hermie and his pal, Wormie both understand now that God's work wasn't done yet. The best always comes to the finish. Hermie and Wormie soon trust in God's plan. To all parents-this will help you child build self-esteem and self-worth. It lets them know that God loves them just like they are. They're very special just like all His wonderful creation. That is God's purpose and plan for each of us. It's superb---I recommend this!"

"Hermie the Caterpillar is a really good movie with funny characters, good animation and a moral lesson to be learned. Poor Hermie, who wants so badly to be someone, anyone, other than the special person he was created to be. Tim Conway is wonderful as the voice of Hermie and Don Knotts excels as the voice of Wormie, Hermie's just as common pal. Together they dream and scheme and worry and fret because they see themselves as too ordinary, all the time failing to understand that God isn't finished with them yet. Great for gently getting into kids hearts that THEY are special and God is continually working to make them into an even more beautiful person. Nothing preachy about this movie, but gives a powerful example of patience and love."

"Our 3 year-old cant get enough of this movie! It's humorous for 3 year olds and parents with a good lesson. Hermie is an unfulfilled catepillar who wants to be anyone but himself. He's too ordinary and plain. He's regularly complains to God that He made him too ordinary, especially in light of all of the other insects that have interesting and unique abilities. God's response is that He is not finished with him yet. Well, the story has a great ending when he transforms into a butterfly. He finally understands and trusts. The story is inspired by Max Lucado's writings and Tim Conway and Don Knotts deliver the voices. Great Stuff! Wish there was another one."
