H.O.T.S. - A reminder from the early days of HBO...

"In former days, that is to say once upon a time, when we first got cable this movie would air late at night over and over again. It speaks to a time when the point was to come up with a plausible reason for women to expose their breasts. This film overcomes that particular obstacle by putting the women in college sororities who then take each other on. Consequently there is the deep and meaningful message that we should all be more accepting of each other, and especially of women with large breasts. In other words, this is not a date movie. This is not really a movie for people who have a realistic chance of going out on a date. This is not a great film, but for this particular genre it is certainly fun and if you are sober you will get quite a few laughs and not all of them at the expense of Danny Bonaduce. It has a warm spot in my heart because this was the film that introduced me to the skin flick genere on late night HBO. Not that I can see me telling the grandkids about it someday.Yes, I remember seeing this movie on "Up All Night" and watched simply to see what they would do with the film's climax, the strip-touch-football game. You have to wonder about the thinking behind the fact that they shot the final scenes twice, once with tops and once withouts. Who would have thought there was some genius thinking about making this film available to network television? Now, this film is available in a widescreen edition. The mind boggles. Is this a great country or what?"

"This is the infamous HOTS in all of its (topless) glory. Fun 80's college flick about snooty (and hot) sorority girls hounded by cute, big-chested outcast girls who form their own sorority as competition. Plenty of topless swims, towel fights, hot scenes with boys, and campus pranks. Lots of flesh and lots of humor. Ultimately, the girls settle their differences in a game of strip football. You get the idea. I don't need to tell you this isn't exactly Chariots of Fire. For what it is, it's worth it for get the DVD. The transfer and sound are good, I don't recall any extras. This isn't the DVD you get for the extras. The "extras" are in the film itself."

"H.O.T.S. is one of those wonderfully innocent sexploitation films from the earliest HBO days (the kind of thing they'd never admit to showing nowadays). The story of a pack of blessedly overendowed College Sorority girls, this film features Playmate Susan Kiger and a bevy of beauties all running around topless in tight shorty shorts and looking---well, how would you expect them to look?
There isn't much of a story, and H.O.T.S. is sexually milquetoast compared to others of this genre (though the topless football game is still a classic), but nobody ever watched H.O.T.S. for its cinematic quality. H.O.T.S. is an homage to testosterone, and needs to be on every man's shelf who made it through the early eighties with his libido intact. And even if not.

"Saw this movie when HBO had it on - years ago. Remember it for having a weak story line, but it more than made up for it with female full nudity (all thru the movie)! Young flesh is always nice to view, especially their sports competition at the movies end."
