"Like the "Inside Genesis: A Critical Review" series, this video is a wretched assortment of commentary by folks you probably have never heard of. The only one whose name I knew was Chris Welch (of "Melody Maker")... and this is a guy who thinks the best Genesis album is "Invisible Touch"! They have clips of early Genesis performances, but they are usually only shown for about 30 seconds and then they cut off. However, there is one redeeming thing about this DVD: The entire 30-minute Belgian television concert from March 1972 is included as a bonus feature. This concert is a must-see for any lover of early Genesis. Unless you have access to bootleg material, you probably have never seen this show in its entirety. It's worth checking out. (By the way, this film will probably end up on the Nursery Cryme SACD and boxed set releases, scheduled for late 2008.)"
Great earlyconcert footage

"There's not a lot of complete concert footage of Genesis, but there's a nice 5 song recording of the band in the Trespass era, included as a Bonus Feature. It is well shot and has good sound. It's interesting to see how they got their sound live.
The documentary is not bad, but isn't the best ever done, but it isn't bad either. Of the non-band produced documentaries, the 'Reflections on Genesis' is better done, since it has a lot of band interviews (even if their on tape). The best Genesis documentary ever was 'Gensis a History' only releassed on VHS, the next best being 'The Genesis Songbook'.
If you're a fan, go ahead and get it for the old footage."
If you love the Gabriel era BUY IT!

"This is great for the fan/musician/ANYBODY who loves the early years of Genesis.Much information not known before is given to the viewer. Summary: It is just great to see the band evolve in such a short time of 5 years, to complete, outstanding, progressive "ARTISTS"...
Some lost footage also is a treat from 72/73 concert excerpts.
It is well worth the $19.00.>Bravo!"

"I must say that this genesis DVD is an excellent review. The people involved in the commentaries are giving us views from a very objective point of view. There were also some aspects of the band that I did not know of and the videos from the seventies are great! But what I did really enjoyed was the bonus material of genesis performing on the belgium tv special.I strongly recommend this DVD specially if you are a Genesis die hard fan just like me!"
Nice attempt...

"I was hoping that this had some good early Peter Gabriel footage since, being a Genesis fan, never saw the band with Grabriel at the helm. It does have footage of the band playing smaller studio type venues but not full songs, interlaced with documentary by people I don't care about. Who is this guy? Not the greatest sound or video either but it did satisfy my desire to some degree. Still looking for good full concert dvd."
