"I stumbled on this while looking for other editions. First off, I bought this as a budget DVD at a local drug store at a fraction of the cost listed here. The price listed by others under New and Used is closer to what I paid for this new.
This is a double-sided DVD which I don't care for to begin with. It's too easy to get fingerprints and scratches on one of the sides.
The movies themselves are great examples of Buster Keaton's work, and if you enjoy silent movies, I would highly recommend these movies. ...not this edition. This DVD looks as if it was made from VHS recordings. This cost me $2 and I didn't expect much in terms of image quality. It is not worth the price Amazon is listing for it. If you're on a budget and can't afford the Kino restored version or other nicer editions, buy this from someone else. Check out the New and Used here on Amazon.
At the time of this writing, Amazon is showing this to be from 1943. ...Uh... NO! The General is from 1927, and Steamboat Bill Jr. is from 1928 (according to the DVD case).
