VERDICT: 1.85 stars, rounded up to 2. Perhaps tolerable if you enjoy 1970s "horror" films (I do). With more realistic acting, and actual focus on the psychic kids, this could have been a 3+ star afair.
A few good scenes, but overshadowed by cartoon-level overacting and super-slow pace. This movie is supposedly about teens with psychic abilities, but instead 80% of the movie instead focuses on several adults--all of whom are about as interesting as watching fake blood dry.
There's literally no "horror" here (although younger viewers might be scared by a couple of the bloodier deaths). There's a slight creepiness to some of the psychic abilities. The scenes that were supposed to be funny (mainly involving Douglas) contained zero actual humor.
PROS:
++ 1970s decor.
++ The bleeding scenes were pretty cool.
++ Amy Irving (one of the 2 main "teens" with abilities; she was ~24 years old in real life).
CONS:
-- Pretty much everything else, especially the constant over-acting by Douglas.
FYI: Several goofs and plot head-scratchers. Visit IMDB dot com and see the 'Goofs' section for this film, if you are interested.

This was really good! I watched it yesterday. One thing I like was that it kept you wondering why all this is happening. There are some funny lines when Douglas breaks into an elderly couple's apartment demanding food and clothes. but mostly, the story keeps guessing and moves along quickly. Its not all that suspensful but the story is so different it deserves a catagory all by itself. Highly recommended to fans of De Palma's and "chase" movies. Oh.. this movie has a couple unique death scenes.
