"This instructional DVD/Tape works well at its primary purpose - to teach some fundamentals of soccer. The animations/cartoon part with Stinky Shoe and the coach are average at best and just plain stupid at worst (they probably account for 10-15% of the tape). My 7 yr old son even commented on how inane the animated parts were. This tape is best for a VERY young audience -say 6 yrs old and under."
Must see for parents and kids.

"This production brings it all home; rules, methods of playing and the importance of teamwork. The use of animated characters keeps the kids interested and the coaching fits right in. My kids really liked watching people like themselves learning for the first time. It just made the first trip to the practice a lot better than it could have been. I learned a lot about the rules of the game, so it has helped me to answer questions that my kids ask. There's nothing else like it available and I really recommend it."
Sportsmanship Returns for Children!

"Nowadays athletics too often is only geared towards the potential elite athletes and intense competition. This DVD emphasizes teamwork, listening and positive interactions among children participating in soccer. It provides an excellent basis for more children to enjoy soccer (and all sports, for that matter) by showing them that sportsmanship actually makes it more fun everyone."
Cut out the inane cartoons.

"I agree with another reviewer that the cartoons are painful. My 7 and 9 year olds did not enjoy them very much either. I'm not against cartoons to illustrate points or keep kids interest, but they are particularly annoying. And your listening to someone who loves SpongeBob here. My other criticism is that this DVD, like so many other DVDs and books, demonstrates more drills than skills. However, it does introduce enough information to be useful for my 7 and 9 year olds, and overall I would recommend it for lack of anything better to recommend."

"my kids watch in the evening just for entertainment? I love it because it does teach soccer basics in a clear and upbeat fashion. Probably the best "how-to" DVD you'll ever find."
