"Frances Langford is one of those great girl singers from the 40's. Whilst the films are not exactly MGM A class they are non the less enjoyable, and titles which i did not know.Being a musicals lover i just had to have them, I did try logging on to the company web site to see what else they had in this series, but could find nothing, not even this item. All they seemed to list were current big budget titles. Pity because i feel sure i would buy more of this series if i had the information."

"Frances Langford (b. 1913 d. 2005) is a magical songstress. Her voice simply captivates and mesmorizes the listener. Oh others sang in the same style, but there was only one Frances Langford. She made over 30 movies, most of them "B" movies but they show her to be a warm, loving, believable performer. These two movies, "Career Girl" and "Dixie Jamboree" showcase her wonderful abilities and Oh that Langford smile! It will melt your heart! Ok, I'm obsessed with Frances Langford, I admit it. So much so that I've written a time-travel fantasy romance novel about her called "Will I Ever Know" available on Amazon. It's about a man in the present day that discovers Frances on a CD, falls in love with her and manages to time travel back to 1945 to meet her in her glorious prime.
By all means get this set. They're a great introduction to Frances. She is surrounded by solid supporting casts, veteran actors that knew their craft. The prints of the movies while not in great condition are more than watchable. Their "grainy" quality only adds to their charm!"
