Loved this film! All the sweetness and innocence of an era I wish we could return and point-of-view is utilized in an interestingly effective manner. A wonderful family film that opens up discussion opportunities about character, integrity, personal worth, dreams and aspirations. Rob Reiner and crew, thank you, thank you, thank you!

This is a coming of age movie that is really sweet. Prior to watching this film I had never heard of the two young stars Madeline Carroll and Callan Mcauliffe. The opening scene shows Mcauliffe and his family just moving into their new home. Madeline Carroll's character is about 8 years old, and soon as she sees the moving van she goes over to help. At this stage Madeline is kind of annoying and Mcauliffe takes an immediate dislike towards her. The time frame of the movie begins in 1957 and follows the kids to their junior high years. Without giving to much away, a giant sycamore tree in the neighborhood plays a significant role in Madeline's life and how the movie ends. I think Rob Reiner's direction is excellent. The ending makes this film magical.
