Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont centers around an elegant elderly lady, Mrs. Palfrey (Academy Award nominee Joan Plowright) who, after being recently widowed, moves to London to be near her 26-year-old grandson. But when he fails to return her calls or visit her at the less than posh Claremont Hotel, fate brings her together with a young writer, Ludo (Rupert Friend), after she has an accident outside his basement flat.
