Stick with the first season since Obi-Wan Kenobi was unable to save this one. Get out of the cold!

Fargo is officially classified as an American black comedycrime drama anthology television series. The humor is wry and tongue in cheek, quirky, absurd, oddly twisted, much of it being the simple style and fashions of previous decades shoved in one's face. This series is ten times better than the movie, IMO. And yeah, the people really do talk like that. I've visited North Dakota several times, but really, the accent is a Northern Midwest sort of thing. Alexandria, Minnesota is actually the Norwegian capital of the U.S. And they really do say "Uff da" there as in the series, as well. Folks are straight with each other and straight to the point, just as portrayed.

Every single season of Fargo has been Sterling so far, and it is close to being the best show on television nowadays. The quality of the show is film-like, as is the music. Each episode begins with the superimposed text: "This is a true story. The events depicted took place in Minnesota in [year]. At the request of the survivors, the names have been changed. Out of respect for the dead, the rest has been told exactly as it occurred." This is a ploy, of course, as in the original film, which the scripts continue to utilize.

Season 4 is currently in development and will star Chris Rock. Set in 1950 Kansas City, Missouri.
