Movie Reviews

FIFA Fever
Dario DeMario | USA | 03/29/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"If you are in any way, shape, or form a "soccer fan", this DVD will send you through outrageous thrills! It has the best of the best! The best headers, fights, saves, goals...it even featured footage from the 1930 World Cup! It has Men, Women and even some Youth footage. Every moment I was anticipating the next to come. Pele, Beckham, Zidane, Platini....they're all in it with their best plays and moments. This is by far the best soccer DVD I have ever seen."

"Having bought this DVD I was looking forward to sitting down in front of the TV for a few hours and having a great time, But NO I found this a very poor viewing experience. I don't know if it was the very boring narrative or even the lack of enthusiasm in the voice. I also found that each section didn't role into one another in was jumping from place to place... It just seems that it was put together by a non-football(soccer) producer. I have had this for a number of months and still haven't watched it all."
The Greatest DVD Record of the World's Greatest Show!
The Rogue | Los Angeles, CA USA | 04/21/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Every four years (barring world war) the greatest national teams meet on the pitch for national glory and individual fame. Watching this DVD reminds me of some of the best moments of my life, when I (and a couple billion of others from planet earth)get lost in the most intense spectacle there is. But the footage from before I was born is what blows me away. We take for granted that Brazil is the perennial favorite, but in '58 it was a different story. I damn near cried when I watched England win in '66. And to see Cryuff lose in '74 must rank as one of the greatest inequities in the history of sport. But there he is in his number 14 jersey, young and brilliant. I cannot really scratch the surface of what is here, but I will tell you this: If you know me, you know what you are getting for your birthday or under the tree this year."
