A slight feel of Doctor Who and a plotline that nosedived this series.

The Beeb have passed over several Doctor Who spin-off options to date, as far back as the sixties even. Ideas such as the Terry Nation vehicle "The Destroyers" (an exclusive Dalek series), or an animated series featuring past classic Doctors, or more recently, the Paternoster Gang, which would have been great. It is a little depressing that they ended up settling on this take, which has the tiniest of ties to the Doctor Who universe. Given room to grow, this might have gone better places; but I'm under the impression it was ill-fated from the start. Torchwood and the Sarah Jane Adventures, even K-9: the Series were all enjoyable. Venture far from the mother series though, and it all seems to spell doom. I hope they come up with some far better down the line.
