"I've watched several different teachers on video and Neena and Veena are the best-- graceful at all times, deliberate, careful to show how the moves work. The VHS of Beyond Basic Dance has many more positive reviews, but getting the DVD is really the way to go because you can set your machine to replay, over and over, the sequence you're having trouble with. This goes especially for learning the moves--the 3/4 shimmy IS tough. I had to watch that part over and over to see how the traveling worked--I think the slide is the step onto your other foot, and then you do the quick up-down on 2,3. Slide 2 3, slide 2 3. Then, as far as the dance, you can do parts of it over and over til you have it down. I have all their videos--5 workout and 3 dance. I do all the workout ones except Fat Burning b/c I'm not in shape enough for that one. But that's a good thing--it's a process--I'd feel gypped that I had bought them if I could do everything right away. Excellent productions."
My first & favorite bellydance teachers/workouts

"This is one of my first DVDs on bellydancing & what got me into it 2 years ago. Great instruction & fun, but the pace could be better. Neena & Veena are my favorite bellydancer instructors. Neena & Veena are my favorite bellydancer instructors. I started & liked their aerobics DVDs "Bellydance Fitness for Beginners" first. They still have the best humor in the voice overs, most relaxed & playful then all the other instructors out there. This is what really makes you want to dance & have fun. Dolphina the Goddess Workouts are good too, but Rania is way too stiff/robotic.
The pace is a bit slow, but they are good at putting an interesting & challenging but not too hard routine together. In this DVD, there's a hip move that looks & is slightly complicated that Rania taught in the one Hip Hop workout I have of hers & took me MANY times of rewinding to get it & was the only reason I would use it. In this DVD Neena & Veena taught it so well, I got it the first time! GOODBYE Rania!

"This dvd is very good, because permit you learn easily and slow until you get well all the step and the bonus are fenomenal, I put them again an again. I say that I'm more advanced that this DVD and watching it I learn all the choreography, the bonus one too, it's very interesting if you are looking for something easy an the step are very natural and exotics"

"You should definietly practice the "Basic Dance" DVD before doing this one. A good way to learn to bellydance if you are too embarrassed to go to a class."
