Well-Rounded Portrait of Princess Diana

"This is an excellent movie, depicting all facets of Princess Diana, good and bad. The actors do an excellent job. The movie starts with a significant event in young Diana's life, (her mother leaving), then moves on to her years as a Sloane Ranger, then to the courtship between her and the prince, the wedding, and problems she endured during her marriage. It goes up to the point where she and Charles decide to live in separate residences (around 1992 or so.)
The actress portraying the Queen bears an uncanny likeness to Her Majesty. The only thing that I disliked was the way the hair was styled on Serena Scott Thomas, who portrays Princess Diana. Di was known for her famous feathered haircut during her courtship and wedding; it was copied a lot, especially in Great Britain. Ms. Thomas looks like she is wearing a big, poufy wig. The hair does not at all resemble the way the Princess wore hers.
Other than this hair gaffe, I thought this film was well-done. I recommend it highly."
Great story - bad actress

"The woman they picked to play the role was all wrong, I lived in England for most of Diana's royal life and this woman did not capture Diana, her hair was (I won't use the word), her demeanor was false and she was absolutely the worst 'Diana' I have ever seen, but then again, maybe I am biased >>>>>> could anyone ever really capture the truly delightful spirit that was Diana, Princess of Wales? She was a magical woman, that will FOREVER be young, beautiful inside & out and missed so dearly.
Diana death was so unexpected and tragic (& TOO MANY UNEXPLAINED DETAILS FOR MY GUT FEELINGS; STILL TO DATE) - this movie seemed to try to cash-in on her memory, without much thought of trying to truly match Diana's true essence & spirit and more thought of which 'B' actress they could get to 'fill' the role & how cheap she would work for!
To anyone who 'knows' anything about Diana, the Patron of so many charities, the woman, the mother - the misunderstood; will see this movie is a JOKE - Just another attempt to make money from her memory (without being willing to pay a 'A' actress to play the part (more money for the film maker I guess)!"

"This movie was originally aired on Television years ago, after Diana got married to Charles. I was fortunate to purchase this copy as I have been searching for it for a very long time and it's something I will watch again and again."
