A definite feel of Beastmaster but not as good.

Movie Reviews

Cheezy yet fun
Ben | 01/18/2004
(3 out of 5 stars)

"This movie is very cheesy. But if you don't set your expectations too high, it can also be a fun little bit o' entertainment if you're into medieval times. The production value is actually quite good, with the costumes and castles and such (I mostly rented this movie so that me and wife could more readily imagine the world of George RR Martin's "A Song of Ice & Fire" series.)
The only character that is interesting and fun is the trusty comic-relief sidekick, Odo. If it wasn't for him, the movie would be very bad indeed. Ivanhoe and Rebecca elicit no empathy whatsoever.
The special effects are pretty low-grade, but actually not too terrible. After watching this movie, you realize just how mind-bendingly awesome "The Lord of the Rings" movie is. LotR could easily have been as bad as Darkest Knight 2.
A bad movie if you are expecting a good movie, but light-hearted and fun if you know what you're in for."
Ultimate sword anticipation

"Dude, this movie owns on so many levels! The sword the main character dude has in the opening credits is off the charts! He owned a dragon in one hit! It blew up like BADAOWWW!!!! The shield is even better cuz it can't be damaged! That fool got owned! Super villains beware cuz ownage is upon you!"
As Fun As The First
Victoria Gates | Tennessee, USA | 05/18/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"First of all this is no Lord of The Rings, but that does'nt mean you wont enjoy it. The key difference is this is a TV series style not a made for the big screen MOVIE. If you enjoy medieval fantasy movies and shows you will most likely enjoy this. The first one was fun to watch and so is this. Its safe for the whole family to watch in my opinion. So grab some ye olde popcorn and a frosty mug of ale and enjoy yourself."
