A murder investigation of a slain businessman turns to clues found in an author's book about an eerily similar crime. Based on the 2008 article "True Crimes - A Postmodern Murder Mystery" by David Grann.

Funnyman Carrey takes on a much different role in this slow moving horror drama that you keep waiting for more to happen. If you are a fan of Carrey, then you should probably see this but keep in mind that Carrey is not cracking any jokes since he has a very serious role.
