I am a huge fan of the late Reginald Hill, who wrote the books this series is based on.
Unfortunately, this screen adaptation does not do any justice whatsoever to the original material; the lead actors are so very mis-cast I wonder if the casting people had even read the books. And, it's boring. How on earth do they manage to make Reginald Hill boring?
