John Agar's curse

"I bought this mainly because I'm a John Agar fan ("Tarantula", "The Brain from Planet Arous", former husband to Shirley Temple) which is why I'm giving it four stars. Otherwise it is a fairly slow-moving monster flick which reminds me a lot of the 50's monster flick "Voodoo Woman"."
Very bad from a very bad director...

"This is from the same guy who directed ATTACK OF THE EYE CREATURES that MST3K riffed on when they were on Comedy Central and this is along the same quality. If you like bad movies, then get it,but if not, skip it entirely! Too bad MST3K didn't do this one because it is a perfect movie for them to do...Buy at your own risk!!"
Pain! Misery! Agony! Death!...

"I give very few 1-star reviews. I try to give any possible benefit to every movie. CURSE OF THE SWAMP CREATURE is so dull, so languid, that it falls into a select category w/ other breath-takingly horrendous, cinematic elephant turds like FRANKENSTEIN ISLAND, NASTY RABBIT, and THE SNOW CREATURE. John Agar (TARANTULA, JOURNEY TO THE 7TH PLANET, BRAIN FROM PLANET AROUS) "stars" as a block of pine. The film is 80% meaningless filler, w/ the title creature appearing in the final 5 minutes! Yee gods! Larry Buchanan has committed other atrocities, but none as egregious as this..."
