This film is ridiculous. NOT worth your time! It is the worst 'panther-name-cash-in-movie' made to date!
The detective is an idiot (as in retarded not meant as insult) without grace. His boss falls short of the 'Dryfus' role. the movie is poorly stitched together, hardly a story in it at all. The son of.. is better then this trash but also falls somewhat short of the original. But the S. Martin remake is in its own way as good as the originals.
Synopsys:
Amost inefficient search for France's most inept detective– using the bluntest instruments possible! Featuring David Niven (in his final screen performance), Robert Wagner, Herbert Lom, Ted Wass, and a cameo by Roger Moore, Curse of the Pink Panther. With Clouseau still missing, the French president orders Clouseau's archrival – the dangerously deranged Dreyfus (Lom) – to find him. Having no such intentions, Dreyfus ingeniously hires the world's worst detective, the New York Police Department's not-so-finest Clifton Sleigh (Wass), to ensure that Clouseau is never located. But it's beginning to look like his foolproof plan could end up making him look like the fool!
