""Cross of Fire" chronicles the rise and fall of David Curtis Stephenson, the Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan in Indiana in the 1920s. Known as "Steve", Stephenson was a power-hungry man who had no qualms about removing anyone who got in his way on his climb up the ladder toward political power. He aspired to the Presidency, ridiculous as that seems. John Heard is perfect as the charming, sociopathic Stephenson. Lloyd Bridges and Mel Harris give straightforward performances as Stephenson's defense attorney and victim, respectively. Well-researched; accurate, deserves more attention."

"A good, but long, story that demonstrates the sense of justice of the common man and that while there is evil in the world, good can prevail in the end. Should be required viewing in any class on Indiana History."
A good movie!
