I find it interesting that this is Roger Corman's very first sci-fi film and it's probably the one most overlooked. It hasn't played on tv since the 1960's. A small Mexican town is plagued by cattle disappearences and the locals believe it's a demon from the sea (actually a giant octopus with one eye!). The acting is standard for this type of film (bad) and the special effects are of the not so special variety. But, one good point about this film...it's only 63 minutes long! Roger Corman does his usual cameo appearence here and the quality of this VCI presentation is better than the previous release (but not by much). But the good news is that the sound has actually been upgraded so you can understand exactly what everyone is saying vs. the ACME VIDEO version that was too muffled.
SERPENT ISLAND is the second movie in this double feature and it's a total piece of crap. So boring that i shut it off after 15 minutes because i couldn't take it anymore.
Well, you want the truth about these movies....don't you?
