"Season 1 for Coach began on ABC in Feburary 1989 as a mid-season replacement show. This show is really funny and made a name for Craig T. Nelson. I really like to see this show in it's early days when Hayden, Luther, Dauber and company laugh things up for the Minnesota Screaming Eagles! Here's a guide for season 1.
1.) Kelly & The Professor 2/28/89
Kelly tells Hayden she had a date with a faculty member, and he wants to know who.
2.) Pilot episode 3/1/89
Kelly's return to Minnesota for college awakens Hayden's paternal instincts, disrupting his relationship with Christine.
3.) Kelly, Meet Christine 3/8/89
Christine demands Hayden be truthful with Kelly about their relationship.
4.) I'm in Love With a Boy Named Stuart 3/15/89
Hayden gets to meet Stuart, Kelly's new boyfriend, at dinner, but the more he gets to know him, the less he likes him.
5.) The Loss Weekend 3/22/89
A losing streak makes Hayden unpleasant company for Christine.
6.) Gambling for Meat 4/5/89
Hayden suspends Luther for 30 days for gambling when he bets against the team and wins a steak at the Touchdown Club; but Luther think he has been fired, and takes another job.
7.) 19 Candles 4/12/89
Hayden plans a quiet birthday celebration for Kelly, who invites Stuart.
8.) Parent's Weekend 4/19/89
Christine is seized by an uncontrollable urge to get a look at Hayden's ex-wife, who's come up for Parents' Weekend.
9.) I'm Sorry I Told You My Wife Was Dead 4/26/89
Hayden consoles a wealthy alumnus' widow to secure a substantial donation.
10.) Define Romance 5/3/89
Hayden feels threatened when Christine dates another.
11.) Who's Team is it Anyway? 5/17/89
Although Hayden needs a victory in his last game for a winning season, he may be forced to bench his star player for skipping practice.
12.) Hoot, Hoot, Hike 5/31/89
The poetry of football is turned into ballet by Kelly's dance instructor, who envisions a pas de deux with technical advisor Hayden.
13.) Dauber's Blow Out 6/7/89
Anti-fun Riley Pringle of the Conduct Committee joins Hayden in supervising Dauber's season-ending party.
This is the best show on TV and I'm glad Universal was able to give recognitizion. I hope to look for future seasons real soon!"
Best TV sitcom ever. Glad to see it on DVD!

"For laughs, no other sitcom tops Coach. Sure, it's not sophisticated and borderline soap opera like many other so called "sitcoms" out there but that's the charm of it. I will happily place the Coach DVD collection right on a shelf with the equally funny and irreverent Seinfeld collection."
FINALLY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS

"Well I am part of the majority of the views on this site...I have been waiting for this to be on DVD and literally stumbled onto this DVD while at the store...For people that don't know the show and write negative reviews...the fans can contest yes...the "alpha male" vs "educated female" relationship is there but there are episodes in this series that end on a sad note and that is when the show shows the spectrum of the writing and acting...how our favorite characters Hayden, Luther, Dauber can make us laugh and turn around and make us see the angle that no one ever see's (what episode does Hayden tell the football player..to cover the man at any expense and he ends up putting the other player in the hospital?)....that and other episodes as well...show the talent of the writers and the actors....
On a negative note...all though this is one of the few shows I will own....when they went to Orlando that is when the show lost its flavor.
The disk is good...some episodes are "grainier" than others...sounds ok....good buy for the cost.
Can't wait for the other 8 seasons!
