I loved this movie! Cast is terrific and the "family" is boisterous and so typical they are hysterical as they go about keeping secrets from each other. Who hasn't "quit" smoking but cannot help but sneak in a few puffs behind the hubby or wife's back? Andy Garcia is so good as a frustrated actor who keeps his acting desire a dark secret from wife Julianna Margulies until he does hit the jackpot for a role of a lifetime. Great actor playing good actor.

Hilarious movie about a dysfunctional New York family. Nothing is what it seems--the wife thinks the husband is cheating on her, but the truth is unexpected. He thinks she's tired of him, but her insecurities make her distant. They both think the other has quit smoking, so secrets abound. Throw in a daughter and son with secrets of their own and a recently-released ex-convict and the story gets interesting. A must see!

This DVD is getting three stars from me because you won't find any breakthroughs here. Like many dysfunctional-family movies before it, the characters in this film can't seem to be open with one another; they communicate through a series of lies. Andy Garcia's prison guard character is secretly taking acting classes, while his daughter--who is supposed to be in college--is stripping. They add a new member to the mix, an ex-convict who agrees to come live in the family's boathouse and fix it up while he gets on his feet. Eventually, the truth has to come out, and the movie ends up tied in a nice little bow.
