Interesting but not instructional

"I'm a huge CL fan, and got interested in playing piano in part, because of the great music CL plays.

But while the DVD is interesting, it was more style over substance. Not that that is bad, the video's are worth the price. But since CL doesn't really read music, they never show any music, and the teaching is very limited."

Nice playing, no instruction at all

"This DVD is basically 2 hours of Chuck Leavell talking about himself and playing through some songs that he is known for. He does not explain anything he is doing and there is no sheet music to reference (one of the references says there is sheet music - there is NOT). I would NOT recommend this as an instructional tool for anyone. I love hearing and watching him play, but I was hoping that he would take some time to explain or at least demonstrate slowly what he's doing. All in all, a waste of money and time"

"The best instructional video I have seen on this instrument, Chuck is such an incredible player with a wonderful career and makes this video with some of his best work. Is ideal for someone in an intermedium piano level that has some understanding of what he is doing, this is surely the next step. It comes with the sheet music for everything so you wont miss a note"
