As a fan, this season was a total let-down because of the abrupt way Doherty left. The rest of the season, however, is mostly intriguing.

The Charmed series is fun and exciting! Although not historically accurate in regards to Wicca, it is a definite must view for anyone interested in the paranormal and supernatural.

A Charmed Beginning...Part 2
S.L.D | FL | 06/08/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)
"Season 2 picks up right where Season 1 left off.
Prue (Shannen Doherty) starts out still grief stricken over Andy's death, which puts the sisters in a very dangerous situation. She starts a relationship with her new boss, guest starring Lochlyn Munro (Freddy vs. Jason), but eventually ends the relationship when she comes to the realization that working in the "museum/appraisal" industry just isn't where her heart lies - thus enter Photography Prue. Her powers also grow in the episode "Ms Hellfire" into a cloning-type of power called "Astral Projection". The episode also shows the return of Barbas, the demon of fear, with the handsome Antonio Sabato Jr. guest starring. (He also guest stars in the episode "Give Me a Sign).
Piper (Holly Marie Combs) starts the season still wanting to open her own club. Eventually successful, her club, P3, features many popular artists including Dishwalla ("The Devils Music), the Cranberries ("She a Man Baby, a Man!"), Janice Robinson ("Animal Pragmatism"), the Goo Goo Dolls ("Ex Libris"), and Paula Cole ("Apocalypse Not"). Piper also falls for their new neighbor Dan Gordon (Greg Vaughan), but to keep things interesting, Leo (Brian Kraus) comes back into her life, still in love. When Piper becomes sick from Mother Nature in one of the best episodes of the season ("Awakened"), Leo misuses his healing power and is stripped of his whitelighter duties and made mortal, thus allowing Piper to have a "legal" relationship with him. But she is torn between him and Dan and the love triangle makes for an excellent storyline.
Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) goes back to college and just spends the season playing the youngest sister. The season has two time traveling episode that Phoebe plays major role in. In "Morality Bites", the sisters are sent 10 years into the future where one sister is a successful business woman, one is divorced with a daughter, and the other is on death row for murder. This episode is a personal favorite. In "Pardon my Past", we learn of the past lives of the girls, with Phoebe being evil (This is just a hint of what is to come in Season 4). Although she has a few love interests in some episodes (such as the hilarious episode "Chick Flick"), she doesn't have a lasting relationship (In preparation of Seasons 3 and 4 where we meet the infamous Cole).
Overall, this season is great. With only a few dull episodes ("The Devil's Music", "She's a Man, Baby, a Man!", and "That Old Black Magic") that are nonetheless entertaining, this season will welcome old and new fans with open arms. The acting of the girls improves even more, including Holly Marie Combs (check out "Awakened", "Astral Monkeys", and "Morality Bites")Dorian Gregory also returns as Darryl, who eventually learns of the sister's secret, and remains their connection to the law.
Season 2 is just a great introduction to the phenomenal Seasons 3 and 4...brace yourselves, folks, it's gonna get good!

"Season 2 featured a lot of new characters in the show including new neighbor Dan, niece Jenny and gave a more prominant role to Leo, who fights with Dan all season over Piper. This season was a bit more light-hearted than season 1 but still had its fair share of classic episodes.
Episodes:
1. Witch Trial - A demon steals the book of shadows and reads the book backwards un-vanquishing 3 demons. Jeremy, The Shadow, and Nicholas return.
2. Morality Bites - One of most popular episodes. The girls travel to the future where they learn some surprising details.
3. The Painted World - Prue gets trapped into a painting.
4. The Devil's Music - Dishwalla's band manager has a deal with a demon, so the girls investigate.
5. She's A Man, Baby, A Man! - Prue turns into a man to attract the deadly succubus.
6. That Old Black Magic - The charmed ones must teach a teenager how to defeat a demon.
7. They're Everywhere - The sisters track down a group of warlocks called "collectors"
8. P3 H2O - The sisters find out the truth about their mom's death and find a new secret about her.
9. Ms. Hellfire - Prue poses as a hitwoman and also gains a new power.
10. Heartbreak City - The sisters meet Cupid and help him fidn a demon.
11. Reckless Abandon - Phoebe brings home a baby from the police station and the sisters must return him to his family.
12. Awakened - Piper falls illness to a deadly disease and needs help from a special someone.
13. Animal Pragmatism - Animals are turned human by some of Phoebe's classmates.
14. Pardon My Past - Phoebe has haunting dreams from her past life, so she visits it.
15. Give Me A Sign - Piper, deseperate to make a decision about Dan and Leo casts a spell.
16. Murphy's Luck - Prue is hired to photograph a woman but later has deadly consequences.
17. How To Make A Quilt Out Of Americans - a group of witches trys to regain their youth.
18. Chick Flick - Phoebe's favorite movie comes to life.
19. Ex Libris - Phoebe befriends a ghost who doesn't know she is dead.
20. Astral Monkey - A crazed doctor injects the girls' blood into three monkies-giving them their powers.
21. Apocalypse, Not - The girls must deal with the four horsemen of apocalypse.
22. Be Careful What You Witch For - The charmed one's encounter a genie but not everything is as it seems."

"Having previously learned that they are all-powerful witches, the Charmed ones spend the 22 episodes of this season (1999-2000) further developing both their Wiccan powers and attempting to have personal relationships.
This season is pivotal because of the increased character development and addition of the P3 nightclub as a background. This self-owned nightclub becomes a gathering spot for the sisters so they can attempt saving the world while not sacrificing too much of their personal life during the process.
A 20 something man and his young sister also move in next door to the Haliwells. Because they are added to the opening credits, audiences instantly know that they are supposed to be very important characters during this season. Dan (Greg Vaughn) develops a crush on Piper, but he also senses that Leo is competing for her affections. Piper subsequently must choose between the two men, and it's actually not easy for her at first because of the conflicting emotions. Dan offers stability and normalcy, but Leo knows exactly who she is and thus what her obligations to the world are. Leo himself becomes a regular cast member in this season.
Piper later learns that she and Leo ultimately got married in "Morality Bites". She must travel forward in time to a modern day witch trial after Phoebe has a premonition of being burnt to death. A hoity San Francisco DA had taken it upon himself to institute modern day witch trials as a platform for attaining local political office. Brushing aside the implausibility of this tactic being used in the non-bible belt San Francisco, this episode does forecast Piper and Leo being together for a time.
Prue turns into a man in "She's a man, baby, a man!" in order to attract a man-killing succubus who is picking victims through its employment at a new dating service. During this episode, we also learn that Dan is romantically attracted to Piper because he had made a video for that very same dating service. That video all but gave away his intentions to attempt wooing her. The sisters must also protect Dan from the succubus while Piper continues to sort out her personal feelings towards him. He is an innocent, but Piper is not sure she wants romantic attention from Dan.
In "P3H20", the sisters learn that their mother had a romantic history eerily similar to Piper's current dilemma over a relationship with Leo vs. his role as a white lighter. Before her untimely death, Patty Haliwell had fallen in love with her own white lighter, Sam (Scott Jaeck). Now knowing this information undoubtedly helps to make Piper's own present-day romantic decisions a little bit easier. Piper then realizes that she would not be undertaking such a tremendous breach of the `rules' and it has been done before, especially by somebody in her own family!
Piper would later learn that her relationship with Leo was so genuine that it had not needed any help from Cupid (Heartbreak City). In this universe, Cupid only brings together couples who are meant for each other yet who ultimately need a little extra help finding that other person. He does not waste time intervening in relationships which already come together on their own.
During "Mrs. Helfire", Andy's former partner Daryl (Dorian Gregory) learns that the sisters are witches. Suddenly all of the odd occurrences and his partner's equally odd behavior prior to Andy's last season's death now make perfect sense. Rather than causing all of the `weird' problems in the city, these young women are in fact the one force which is capable of stopping them. Bringing all supernatural matters to them and providing cover when necessary therefore actually is beneficial for law and order and the department. Daryl now assumes the ally role which Andy once had and stops probing what happened around the charmed ones. They now reciprocally trust each other.
Shannen Doherty is reunited with a former 90210 co-star when Stephanie Beacham guest stared as Martha Van Lewen during "Reckless Abandon". The sisters are dispatched to prevent a ghost from killing all the men off inside one family line. Beacham and Doherty always had looked genuinely happy to work together on-camera and I am pleased that they were reunited for the episode.
Prue leaves her job at Buckland's Auction House for personal and professional reasons in "Awakened". She subsequently gets a job as a photographer in "Murphy's Luck".This new job (in addition to co-ownership of P3) will provide the job flexibility desperately needed by a charmed one. The photographer's odd hours will work as a nice cover for her evil fighting duties much like Clark Kent's reporter career had covered for Superman's adventures.
I was thrilled when Season One of Charmed was released, and am ecstatic that Season Two is being released so quickly in succession. Thank you for paying attention to the fans.

Charmed: Season Two Gets Two Thumbs Up!

"Charmed is defintely one of my guilty pleasures and the second season is no exception. The second season is full of depth, action, suspense, drama and comedy; the storylines are written very coherently.
Episodes such as Ex Libris, Chick Flick and Pardon My Past will keep you on the edge of your seat each time you watch them! Great stuff.
Packaging is also nice but I wish that the studio would throw in some extras; bloopers or something. Oh well. Anyway, can't wait for season three!!!!
in case you've forgotten which episodes are in this season (after all it has been six years since the season first aired), here they are:
-Witch Trial
On their first anniversary of becoming witches, the sisters face a cloven-hoofed demon called Abraxas, that steals the Book of Shadows and undoes the spells they've cast.
-Morality Bites (Quite Possibly The Most Disturbing Episode In The Entire Series).
When Phoebe has a vision of herself being burnt to death, the sisters travel ten years into the future to learn what happened. Only to discover that she used her powers to kill someone, causing a local DA to begin modern day witch trials as a platform for political office. Meanwhile, Prue and Piper try to save Phoebe, but they both are surprised and somewhat disappointed to learn how their lives turned out.
-The Painted World
Prue is sucked into another dimension and finds herself trapped inside a painting with a dangerous warlock. Meanwhile, after damaging Prue's car, Phoebe tries to get the funds for the repair.
-The Devil's Music
Leo lures the manager of Dishwalla to P3, aware that the manager has made a pact with a demon that grants him fame and fortune in exchange for innocent souls. Meanwhile, Darryl soon becomes involved when he investigates the mysterious disappearance of young women from many of Dishwalla's past concerts, and suspects that more will disappear when they next perform.
-She's A Man Baby, A Man (Totally Hilarious!)
The sisters discover that Phoebe is psychically linked, through her powers, to a man-killing demon known as a 'Succubus.' In order to lure the Succubus to the sisters, Prue casts a spell, which turns her into a man. Meanwhile, Piper discovers from a video tape at the dating service that their new neighbour, Dan, is interested in her.
-That Old Black Magic
The sisters must find and train the 'Chosen One' to vanquish a powerful evil witch that could destroy the Charmed Ones.
-They're Everywhere
A band of knowledge-stealing warlocks hunt down a young man who uncovered the location of one of the greatest sources of power in the world. Meanwhile, Prue has her hands full with Jack Sheridan.
-P3 H2O
The sisters must face and destroy the demon that was responsible for their mother's death 20 years ago. In the process, they uncover a chapter of their mother's life that they never knew about - one that disturbingly mirrors Piper's current
relationship with Leo.
-Mrs Hellfire
An [...] attempt on the sisters' lives forces Prue to go undercover as the woman who tried to kill them, known as Ms. Hellfire. While undercover, she becomes romantically involved with the man who hired the original Ms. Hellfire.
-Hearthbreak City
A demon named Drasi steals Cupid's ring, which brings couples together. Now Cupid must convince the Halliwells to help him get it back before Drasi breaks all of the relationships, thus killing Cupid.
-Reckless Abandon
The sisters must find a way to vanquish a ghost who is intent on killing all of the men in a family line, including the last male, a baby.
-Awakened
When Piper contracts a life-threatening tropical virus that leaves her in intensive care, and to try to save her life, Prue and Phoebe cast an 'awakening' spell. However, since the spell was used for personal gain, the sisters can no longer sleep, and Piper's sickness spreads into an epidemic as a direct consequence. Meanwhile, Prue quits her job at Bucklands and Phoebe enrolls in university.
-Animal Pragmatism (Really Weird Episode!)
A group of lonely mortal women at a University cast a spell that turns three animals into men, who wreak havoc on the town. Meanwhile, Prue adjusts to life being unemployed.
-Pardon My Past
Phoebe experiences flashes of one of her past lives when she and her sisters were cousins in the 1920s. However, in this past life, Phoebe was evil and power mad and a curse was bestowed upon her that could affect future Phoebe's life.
-Give Me A Sign
Phoebe helps Piper cast a spell in order to help her choose between Dan and Leo. Meanwhile, Bane is broken out of jail and kidnaps Prue.
-Murphy's Luck
After Prue prevents a woman from committing suicide, a Darklighter puts a curse on her that throws her into a depression that could cost her life.
-How To Make A Quilt Out Of Americans
A group of three elderly witches, one of them close friends of the Halliwells' grandmother, summon a demon to restore their youth. However, in return, the demon wants the powers of the Charmed Ones.
-Chick Flick (One of my all time favorites)
A warlock brings characters to life from old B-grade horror movies in an attempt to kill the Charmed Ones.
-Ex Libris (Another Really Good One)
The sisters must find a demon responsible for the murder of one of Phoebe's classmates. Meanwhile, Dan discovers that Leo was previously married, and decides to take matters into his own hands, while Prue attempts to help a man who is looking for a witness to his daughter's murder.
-Astral Monkeys
The doctor that treated Piper when she was critically ill discovers, and gains, the Haliwells' powers. After being twisted by the magic now within him, he goes on a sadistic organ-harvesting spree, targeting criminals in the streets
-Apocalypse Not
When a vanquishing spell goes awry while the Halliwells try to destroy the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Prue and one of the Horsemen become trapped in a vortex. Piper and Phoebe enlist the help of the three remaining Horsemen to free Prue and the fourth Horseman before the vortex closes, and both are killed.
-Be Careful What You Witch For
A Genie, employed by a Dragon Warlock to steal the Halliwells' powers, offers to grant each sister one wish for whatever they most desire.
