Considering that there was one main actor in this, it was well done and worth the watch!

This is one of two movies in my lifetime that I thought was so bad, that I actually got up and walked out of the movie theater. I normally enjoy Tom Hanks, but this film was just a boring, insipid dud.

I agree it is boring because it is just about one man with nothing to do!

I do like this movie.
If you like survival type stories, you'll like this enough. It has a very Robinson Crusoe feel... but with a modern twist.
For Parents: this has a PG-13 rating mainly for the scary situations. A plane wreck is about the worse that happens. And the guy (being a very poor survivalist in my opinion) does manage to hurt himself at every conceivable moment. Some language, not a lot.
And there is a lovely scene involving an aching tooth, and an ice skate... :) The guys will laugh at the girls going "EWE!"
Worth watching.

I enjoy survival stories and this is a very good one. You get a good feel for what it takes to survive. Most important, in order to survive, you have to learn fast and adapt quickly. Tom Hank's character goes through a lot of transformation throughout the movie, making it an interesting character study.
