Carrington explores the friendship between the talented painter and the British author Lytton Stracey (Jonathan Pryce, Brazil) from 1915 until 1932. An initial adversarial exchange (she refuses his advances during a countryside hike) soon gives way to a loving, caring and long-lasting relationship.
