McCthulhu | Canada | 03/02/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "If there's one knock that I have against this DVD, it is the bizarre placement of the 'sponsor' advertisement so that you have to view it every single time you start up the CD before you can fast forward to the menu. It's annoying as hell to have to watch the same advert over and over if you don't watch the disc all at one go. That being said, the actual content of the program is fantastic. The method of using actual quotes done by actors to give flavor to the moments being depicted, rather than some stodgy professor telling us what we're supposed to think, makes the history of Canada become something real. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series, but the first box is superbly done, especially the widescreen cinematography. I wish history class was like this in grade school."
