Fun Metabolism Boosting Routine
Rebecca Johnson | Washington State | 12/28/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)
"If you are looking for an energetic exercise routine that burns calories and sculpts your entire body, Burn Fat Fast may even make you feel more energetic at the end than when you started.
Warm Up - 5-minutes
Cardio - 20-minute Dance-Themed House Party. This routine completely oxygenates the body and the dance-themed cardio made me feel like I was a college student having fun at the beach. That doesn't mean it was not challenging, the dance section is high energy, but especially enjoyable and playful.
20-minute Strength Routine - Uses hand weights to shape the arms, chest and shoulders while also working the core to slim down the lower body. The additional creative challenges include doing two exercises at the same time. Like you may be lifting your leg and holding weights in your hands. This presents amazing balance challenges that I found to be especially enjoyable.
If you have been consistently exercising with Yoga and Pilates DVDs, then this is your reward. When you meet the challenges, your self-esteem will soar and this workout starts to pay off even after just the first time you try the exercises.
Cool Down - Stretching for 5-minutes to improve flexibility and posture.
Highly recommended as a full-body workout that not only tones your entire body, it also boosts your metabolism. Five Stars for being completely FUN.

It's a fun workout

"The Denise Austin DVD Burn Fat Fast Cardio, Dance and Sculpt is a high energy, fast paced, quick work out. The DVD provides users with several options. You can start with the warm up. It's always a good idea to warm up before you work out. The warm up/stretch portion of the DVD is 5 minutes long.
The most exciting part of this DVD is the Cardio work out. It's a really fun dance work out. When you are actually doing the moves with Denise and the girls on the stage it's almost like you are at the club having a good time rather thank working out. The Cardio work out is 20 minutes long. The set is really nice too. Denise and the girls work out on the floor with an ocean view backdrop.
The Strength portion of the DVD includes the use of hand weights. The use of the hand weights in this segment helps with shaping arms, the chest and shoulders. While using the weights you will still be working the core of your body to exercise the abs, hips, thighs and buttocks. If you have bad knees this portion of the DVD might be a challenge for you as there is some squatting involved and some exercises which require you to kneel on one knee at times.
The Burn Fat Fast, Cardio Dance & Sculpt arrived in stores on December 20th. It's a fun high energy work out. Out of all the recent Denise Austin DVD releases this one is my favorite I like seeing the ocean in the background, I like the energy of it, it's really fun!

Good workout, but cueing not great for the aerobics
Just want to get fit after 50 | Novelty, Ohio United States | 03/19/2006

"I love Denise Austin, and had not purchased any of her workouts in a long time. This is a great workout, but my only complaint is that the cueing for the aerobics portion is lousy. Even the women in the background are having a tough time following her at times. After you have stumbled through it a few times, it is not difficult, but I don't like to be left behind. It is frustrating. Hence the 4 stars."
Good but not great

"I would really recommend Denise's Indoor Walk dvd rather than this one, at least for beginners. This dvd has only one difficulty level, and the routine is fast paced and can be hard to follow for those who are not well-coordinated. This is better for those who are more experienced with working out. I had to set my copy aside for later, after I'm in better shape and have more experience with dvd workouts. Meanwhile I'm using her Indoor Walk dvd every day. Cardio Dance and Sculpt is a good workout, and if I could keep up I'd probably enjoy it, but I'm not there, at least not yet."
Fun and Effective Workout
Kelly A. Daly | New Jersey | 01/06/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)
"This DVD has a 5 min. warm-up, 2 short but effective workouts, and a 5 min. stretch. The DVD gives lets you select:
warm-up + 20 min. cardio + stretch
warm-up + 20 min. strength workout + stretch
warm-up + cardio + strengh + stretch
You can also play each segment individually
The 20 min. cardio section is a fun medley of easy to follow low-impact moves including some kickboxing. Denise is encouraging and tells you "there's no wrong way, just keep moving". The music is upbeat. It's the same throughout both workouts, so it can get a little repetitive.
The strength section is 20 min. long. The 1st 15 min. is standing moves with weights. You work your lower body and upper body simultaneously with lunges and plies combined with curls and overhead presses. These moves target your buns, thighs, arms, chest and shoulders. The last 5 min. is abs focused moves with some upper body exercises as well.
I really enjoyed this DVD. Denise doesn't rush through the workout. She usually cues before each move. I found it easy to follow and fun to do, and most importantly - effective."
