If you thought Bryan Adams was just another pop star, this impressive performance will prove a revelation. Before an appreciative crowd of 56,000 fans in the natural amphitheater near Slane Castle in Ireland, Adams and his... more » bandmates (drummer Mickey Curry and guitarist Keith Scott) provide a hard-driving set of Adams's best-known songs, working wonders with their muscular three-piece arrangements. While providing a solid bass foundation, Adams is an amiable host in top form, moving quickly and confidently from rockers like "It's Only Love" to the chart-topping ballad "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You," and the crowd proves its devotion with a massive sing-along. Former Spice Girl Mel C. appears--along with a lucky girl from the audience--for a lively rendition of "When You're Gone," and the entire concert is faithfully reproduced in crystal-clear 5.1-channel audio. It's a rockin' good show, and the backstage footage and interviews are a welcome bonus. --Jeff Shannon« less

"Good concert. Audio is good (but not stellar). Video is good...but definitely not reference quality. Overall a very enjoyable concert with some great classic Bryan Adams material. My only serious gripe is with the crowd. What is up with the folks in Ireland? The people at the concert thought it would be fun to bring their own whistles...you know, the kind that sound like a police whistle. Instead of cheering...they blow these high-pitched/shrill whistles every chance they get. The problem is that occasionally they do it even during the songs. VERY ANNOYING. If I was in the crowd, I probably would have strangled a few people. I wished they could have dis-allowed this practice...especially for a recorded concert event. It almost ruins the concert and is really just plain RUDE.If you can block it out...you will enjoy the show. If you can't (and I almost can't), you will want to skip this one...or sell it after you watch it a couple of times and make a decision."

"Bryan Adams puts on a great show in this DVD. Each of the songs he performs is fantastic except for "When You're Gone." The only flaw in the song is the special guest Bryan brings out on stage, Mel. C. She performs in the recorded version of the song and she's great in it but something has happened to this woman since then. She looks terrible and her voice is even worse. Aside from that the rest of the concert is wonderful. I really don't understand why there are three bonus songs. Why weren't they just put in with the rest of the concert? Is it to make consumers think they are getting more bonus material than they actually are? The interview with Bryan and his band members is really good though. One word to Bryan: White isn't your color."
Best BA I have ever heard

"BA is in the best voice that I have ever heard from him. I am an old fan - I have heard everything from BA - and most of the songs in this concert were better than his recorded/radio versions. His voice seems to have gotten better with age. (No, really!) It was unusual to have the concert done with only a three-piece band, but I enjoyed it...but it would have been better with another guitar to fill out the sound. The editing was excellent, blending shots from many different cameras and angles in order to keep the DVD moving. The extras are good - but the band interview could have been much better and in depth. I especially liked the photo gallery included as an extra on this DVD. Overall, an excellent buy and a must for any BA enthusiast."
I'VE WAITED A LONG TIME FOR THIS!

"This DVD is a must for any music fan and a must-must for any BA fan. I have to disagree with some critics who claim that there are too many "empty spaces" due to the lack of band members. BA has produced a newer raw sound to his live music as a three piece in the last two years and he plays bass very well. Outstanding tracks in my opinion are "Into the Fire" and "Back to You" but every track is the dogs! The DVD captures the atmosphere well but I just wish they could have made a video of BA at Wembley '96 - if they had - five stars would not have been enough! Buy this and wake up the neighbours."

"I just finished veiwing this DVD for the first time. Anyone who has seen him in the last two years has basically seen this show. He has been sticking to the same basic format with his three piece band. I have seen several three piece shows live and really enjoyed them but I have to say they sounded a lot better live than on this DVD. For some reason it is very "empty" sounding. Maybe you do not realize it so much when your actually there but it is very evident when viewing the DVD. I do not know why he doesn't fill in the group when they are on tour or at least for this concert!!! The stage has been "fluffed" up some with more lighting and some fireworks which is an unusual but a nice change for BA. Over all the songs are great (most of the best are included), the crowd energy is awesome and for any BA fan it is a must have for your collection. A real treat is the Chicane song. It sounded awesome and the crowd went crazy!!! Anyone who enjoys watching or listening to live music will enjoy this DVD!!! I am a huge BA fan and will watch it over and over until the next DVD is released (I hope there will be more)!"
