I loved this the first time I saw it in a theater when it first came out. When I watched it recently, it struck me as a hodgepodge of fantastic or funny scenes, and not necessarily a tribute to the Brothers Grimm. I doubt if they were really like the people portrayed in this movie. Entertaining, but limited.

this movie was one of Matt Damon's earlier works, but also one of his better works. Adding Heath Ledger only makes the movie more fun to watch. Together they make a good movie paring.

Matt Damon & Heath Ledger team up to play the "Once Upon A Time ""storytellers.
The movie brings together the fairy tales of the Grimm brothers from Snow White to Rapunzel in a clever often humorous way. Both actors hold their own in this enchanting movie.

I love fairytales and folktales so I rather enjoy this movie which tried to show how the Grimm brothers came up with the stories in their collection. Best of all 2 of my favorite actors are in it...Matt Damon and Heath Ledger. It contains humor, horror, and fantasy. I gave it 4 stars because it jumps around a bit and at times hard to follow, but the special affects are great. I don't recommend this for kids under 17, since it could get quite graphic. Overall, good movie.

This is a four star movie, and excellent choice but not for the little ones.

This film was excellent. I will keep it because Heath Ledger is gone and his acting can never be replaced.

A very enjoyable movie. It's a fun romp through fairy tales and dark fantasy. I don't know why the other reviewers did not seem to like this movie; I would highly recomend this movie.

This is not what I expected it to be. It is kind of a humorous telling of how the Brothers Grimm lived their lives before the writing of the tales, and how some of the tales came about. It has a lot of parts that are supposed to be funny, but we just sat here and rolled our eyes. Like my husband said, it's not something to recommend to friends any time soon. The only consolation for me was that Heath Ledger is in it.

NOT a childrens movie. I strongly recommend it only for kids over age of 12! My 14 year old and husband enjoyed it. My 8 year old had to stop watching. Matt Damon and Heath Ledger are great in the film. Storyline is not what I thought it would be. I give it only 3 stars.

"This was a delightful surprise of a film. Filled with fairy tale characters coming to life, it's a dark yet funny story that's deftly handled. I loved the climax, the story and movie definitely delivered!"
