I remember seeing this movie in its first run. (Yeah, I'm that old.) My only specific memory of the movie was limited to my short-lived crush on Audrey Hepburn.
A couple of weeks back, I got hold of Truman Capote's amazingly enqaging short story and read it. And loved it.
Then I watched the movie. Mistake. It's a sweet, old-timey little lovey movie. The previously love-for-sale main characters learn that they really do love each other and end up smooching with a drenched cat between them in a downpour. Really.
Go ahead and see the movie. It's sweet, silly, very dated fun.
Then read the short story, which is tart, targeted, and timeless.
You'll join me in wondering why Truman Capote allowed his marvelous story to become such a sugary confection.

Audrey Hepburn is beautiful in the movie! There is no wonder why this is a classic and must have for women! I found the movie glamorous and entertaining. It is quite different from the Chick-Flicks or Romantic Comedies in modern times.
The only issue that I had with the movie was the plot. I wished her character had a stronger personality, other than the lost pretty girl. I enjoyed her relationship with Cat - which by the way, was super cute!
I recommend this movie for all people to watch, at least once. :)

Always an enjoyable classic. It's nice to watch a movie without CG or glam-special-effects every once in a while!

"Purchased Breakfast At Tiffany's - Paramount Centennial Collection (Mastered in High Definition along with Audrey Hepburn Collection (Breakfast at Tiffany's / Roman Holiday / Sabrina). After watching both, there was no discernible difference between them. Save your money and purchase The Collection. You get three movies for the price of one.
