I have since checked several (well-informed) "history of golf" books, and found that the movie seems to be very accurate. If there WERE any liberties taken, they were not significant nor did they alter the career or personal life of the man. While he was a prodigy who became a legend of the game, he was also just a man, who had more important things to do with his life than continue to keep knocking a small ball toward a hole. This movie helped me gain a greater understanding of who Bobby Jones really was, and brought admiration and respect for not only the golfer, but the man." Hero of the Golden Age of Sports Cameron G.
